Nusrat enjoys reading contemporary fiction, young-adult, surreal fiction (think Neil Gaiman), fantasy and paranormal, mystery, fairy tales, and horror. Anything besides that she will have to think about.

I just finished reading Want Not by Jonathon Miles, and personally I think it was pretty banging. A good book about materialism and our consumer culture that is thought provoking without being preachy.
I recently just finished Syzygy, Beauty: An Essay by T. Fleischmann, and I think it’s probably the most beautiful book I’ve ever read in my life. Read if you like beautifully strange poetic nonfiction. Fleischmann, as a transgender author, has a wonderful perspective on art, the human body, and sexuality.
Also, if you haven’t already, please read McSweeny’s GERTRUDE STEIN GETS HER NEW IPHONE . It parodies the style of Gertrude Stein, the poet, as she unveils her new phone. Absolutely fabulous, especially if you know Stein’s writing. It’s a lot of, um, disjunctive phrases and repetition and…Check it out!
